A monochrome Jubilee

POSTED 27 May 2012

Well it’s clear from my diary that the Jubilee long weekend is giving folk an excuse to party! Whilst I’m not complaining it did set me thinking about what to wear. Whilst there is still a lot of colour blocking going on this season (which I love and more about that in another blog post) I’ve also noted super chic monochrome. It’s a look that has been interpreted and re-interpred through fashion history – think the wonderful race scene from My Fair Lady, Emma Peel and her stunning shift dresses, and the breath-taking Dior New Look outfits modelled by Barbara Goalen and photographed by Norman Parkinson.

My little polka dot hat would work so well with a monochrome outfit.  It’s a Sinamay headpiece blocked and wired, then covered in the most beautiful spotted silk fabric with a delightful bow in the same fabric.

I’m so looking forward to the Jubilee weekend and if you have a round of parties to attend there is still time to pop in to our studio and find a hat to suit your outfit, whatever the colour!
