A Very Royal Affair!
It’s hard to believe merely a week ago when more than a billion people worldwide celebrated the wedding of the decade of Prince William and Catherine Middleton or The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, we couldn’t be more excited like the rest of the world to see her whole elegant McQueen ensemble.
But for us we had a little job to do. I was so honoured to be asked by Champions of British style to design a fascinator for the Princess Catherine Engagement doll! Seven British fashion and design leaders came together to dress and accessorise this fabulous Doll.
Of course I agreed decided to use a design from the new summer collection so I set about designing it in miniature. We chose this piece because Kate tends to wear smaller head pieces, the style is fun but elegant and the fuchsia went well with the blue dress and gold accessories. This hat can be made in different colors.
I am so glad that my design got decided to go with a hat on the doll as Kate Middleton has done a lot for the millinery world and this reinforces the fact that hats are back in fashion.
The Fascinator is the original Bucklebury Fascinator (Bucklebury is also the home town of Catherine) which was made in a very small size to accentuate her tiny head with a gold accent and the full size fascinator.
The doll retails at £35 with £1 donated to the Help for Heroes charity and is available in Hamleys. Both instore and on the website.
